Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Underwriter to manage a profitable middle‑market E&S construction book in a remote capacity. The role emphasizes independent territory growth and strong underwriting judgment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in E&S construction underwriting with experience on larger, complex contractor accounts, broker networking, and adherence to guidelines. A BA/BS and professional designations are encouraged.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant and progressive middle market E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle‑market construction accounts.
• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• Studies toward attaining professional designations (RPLU, CPCU, AU, CIC) encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess risk, determine acceptability, rating, endorsements, and pricing.
• Contact and respond to broker inquiries within designated timeframe; serve as underwriting resource.
• Create and maintain documentation for new and renewal bound files, worksheets, calls, and other key documents.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives, guidelines, and company policies.
• Serve as a resource to other staff regarding procedures and guidelines.
• Develop understanding of factors that affect policy rating and risk.
