Job summary

Dow Inc. seeks a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will partner with IT leaders and Enterprise Architecture to shape a modern data strategy, ensuring security, performance, and cost efficiency.

The role requires 5+ years in related fields, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and US work authorization. You will manage backups, HA, DR, and work with Managed Services to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant or 8 years of experience in lieu of a bachelors degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• U.S. work authorization with no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead database platform solutions for on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Research, analyze and implement RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle) and other database technologies.
• Collaborate with Database IT Leader and Enterprise Architecture to develop a database roadmap.
• Architect and implement backup, high availability, DR, installation, patching and upgrades.
• Coordinate with Managed Services to ensure timely and efficient delivery of database solutions.
• Ensure Change, Incident and Problem tickets are handled per SLAs.
• Collaborate with Cloud and On-premise teams to deliver solutions with lowest TCO and high performance.
• Maintain Dow’s database inventory and licensing needs.
• Assist IT leadership in evaluating new solutions and vendor proposals.
• Leverage AI tools to automate database activities while ensuring security and compliance.
