Job summary

Dow Inc. seeks a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

You will partner with leadership to develop roadmaps, implement read/write optimization, and manage backup, disaster recovery, and upgrades while controlling costs. The role requires 5+ years in a related field, deep SQL Server/Oracle expertise, and strong OS, security, and networking knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience at US E5 / Canadian PO2 / Sergeant or 8 years of experience in lieu of a bachelors degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• U.S. work authorization is required; no visa sponsorship is available.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead database platform solutions for Dow across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop and maintain a database technologies roadmap with IT Leaders and Enterprise Architecture.
• Design and implement backup/recovery, HA, DR, patching, and upgrades for database systems.
• Partner with MSS provider to ensure timely delivery of solutions and day-to-day tasks.
• Ensure changes, incidents and problems are handled per SLAs and audited as needed.
• Collaborate with Cloud and On-prem teams to minimize TCO while maintaining performance.
• Maintain Dow’s database inventory and manage licensing needs.
• Support internal/external audits and assess new solutions with IT leadership.
• Automate database activities using AI tools while ensuring security and data protection.
