Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

The role focuses on implementing modern DB architectures, backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery while coordinating with cloud and on-prem teams to optimize performance and cost. Key responsibilities include governance of database inventories, licensing, and audits; driving improvements with MSP partners; and leveraging AI to automate

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL Server and Oracle RDBMS platforms across on-prem, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Azure Cloud database platform experience is preferred.
• Exposure to SAP HANA and Azure Cosmos DB is a plus.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux OS; experience with backup/recovery and DR/HA architectures.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead database platform solutions for Dow's IT environment.
• Design and implement backup/recovery, HA, DR, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Cloud/On-prem teams to maintain roadmaps.
• Work with MSP to ensure timely delivery of database services and adherence to SLAs.
• Maintain Dow's database inventory and licensing; support audits as needed.
• Leverage AI tools to automate routine database tasks while preserving security and performance.
