Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking an experienced E&S Construction Underwriter to develop and manage a profitable middle-market construction book of business. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience and a track record handling larger, complex contractor accounts.

Senior underwriter will work with brokers, prepare documentation, and ensure compliance with company policies while aiming for profitable book growth. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and manage a growing book of business.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications, classify risk, set pricing and endorsements.
• Follow work plans, timelines, and predefined goals for assigned work.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives, guidelines and policies.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk; provide underwriting guidance to teammates.
• Serve as a resource to department staff on underwriting procedures.
