Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
• 5+ years of relevant E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts with a sizeable book of business.
• Strong ability to market to brokers and build business relationships.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents; classify risk and determine pricing.
• Engage with brokers, respond to inquiries within designated timelines, and provide underwriting guidance.
• Maintain and organize files and documentation for audits and compliance.
• Follow underwriting authority directives and internal policies.
• Approve or deny within authority or escalate to higher authority as needed.
• Cultivate relationships to facilitate underwriting and business development.
• Support other staff with underwriting procedures and guidelines.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
