Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Underwriter with a middle-market focus for a remote position. The role requires at least 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience, with a track record in larger, more complex contractor accounts, and independent work capabilities.

You will evaluate applications, determine pricing, and maintain documentation while adhering to company guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication with brokers and documentation.
• Pursuit of professional designations (RPLU/CPCU/AU/CIC) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess each risk.
• Determine acceptability, assign rating, indicate endorsements and limits, and determine pricing.
• Create and maintain bound files and underwriting worksheets.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives, guidelines, and policies.
• Serve as a resource to other staff on procedures and guidelines.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
• Travel up to 25% of time as needed.
