Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Underwriter with a middle-market focus to develop and manage a profitable construction book of business. The role requires at least 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience and a proven ability to market to brokers and grow a territory with minimal supervision.

The position is remote in the United States, with occasional travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Ownership of a sizeable book of business, ideally $3M–$5M.
• Experience marketing to brokers and developing business relationships.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and determine pricing.
• Respond to broker inquiries within designated timeframe.
• Create and maintain all underwriting files and worksheets.
• Adhere to underwriting guidelines and directives.
• Approve/deny within authority or escalate to higher authority.
• Cultivate relationships to facilitate underwriting and business development.
• Serve as a resource to staff on underwriting procedures and guidelines.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
