Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Ability to own a sizeable book of business and manage broker relationships.
• Strong production and business-development mindset; market to brokers and grow territory.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess each risk, determine acceptability, assign rating, indicate endorsements and limits, and determine appropriate pricing.
• Contact and respond to inquiries from brokers within designated timeframe to provide information and underwriting support.
• Create and maintain all documentation (files, worksheets, conversations) per guidelines.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives, guidelines, and policies.
• Approve/deny within authority or recommend to higher authority.
• Cultivate internal/external relationships to facilitate underwriting, promote business development, and stay abreast of industry trends.
• Serve as a resource on underwriting procedures and guidelines.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
