Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking an experienced E&S Construction Underwriter to develop and manage a profitable middle-market book of business. This remote role requires at least 5 years of E&S construction underwriting, with a track record of underwriting larger, complex contractor accounts.

You will work independently, respond promptly to brokers, maintain comprehensive documentation, and follow all underwriting guidelines to drive profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years underwriting E&S construction business for middle-market accounts.
• Experience underwriting larger, more complex contractor accounts.
• Ability to work independently and build a territory with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of documentation, underwriting worksheets, and policy files.
• Willingness to pursue professional designations (RPLU, CPCU, AU, CIC).

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal E&S construction risks, classify and price appropriately.
• Manage a profitable middle-market construction book with minimal supervision.
• Respond promptly to broker inquiries and maintain documentation.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives and department guidelines.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
