Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior Commissioning Manager, Preconstruction to lead Testing & Commissioning activities for PV, BESS, and HV from BD through LNTP.

You will drive estimates, schedules, and contract exhibits while coordinating with Preconstruction, Engineering, and field teams. The role can be remote or hybrid with in-office presence in San Diego, CA; travel and coordination with clients are expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in commissioning of utility-scale electrical or renewable projects.
• Experience reviewing EPC contracts and commissioning exhibits.
• Proven ability to develop commissioning estimates, schedules, and plans.
• Strong PV, BESS, HV, and SCADA commissioning experience.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams across projects.
• Excellent organizational and client-facing communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Eng/Construction Management preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Own the commissioning workstream through BD to LNTP and coordinate inputs.
• Collaborate with Preconstruction and SMEs to integrate scope, estimates, schedules, and deliverables.
• Represent Testing & Commissioning during EPC contract reviews and exhibits.
• Lead development and presentation of SOLV’s standard commissioning requirements.
• Maintain a commissioning requirements register linking obligations to milestones.
• Own templates for commissioning estimates and the basis of estimate.
• Own early commissioning schedule templates and milestone logic.
• Write, review, and maintain commissioning plans and DOR during BD and LNTP.
• Ensure plans define scope, responsibilities, readiness gates, testing approach, and turnover.
• Lead scope and risk reviews with clients and stakeholders; document decisions.
• Lead client communications on scope, risks, commitments; document follow-ups.
• Oversee handoff to CPM & Portfolio Delivery and field execution partners.
• Support execution teams in interpreting obligations and scope changes.
• Standardize exhibits, estimating methods, and planning templates.
• Prioritize commissioning preconstruction and drive timely completion.
