Axon 911’s Carbyne Voice team is building the cloud-based infrastructure that handles emergency calls — the actual call‑handling engine, not a layer on top. This work ensures uptime for PSAPs across the country in a life‑critical system.

As a Senior UC Software Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain this platform, driving major features and ensuring end‑to‑end call reliability in production. This is a hybrid role with four days per week in our Boston office.

Qualifications

• Deep experience with VoIP/UC systems and SIP protocol.
• Cloud platform experience, ideally AWS.
• Familiarity with FreeSWITCH and Kamailio.
• Comfort in a cross-functional environment and clear communication.
• Thrive under meaningful responsibility; every call matters.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud‑based voice infrastructure for SIP routing and call state management.
• Build and maintain integrations with telephony providers, PSAPs and partners.
• Drive major features and architectural evolution of the voice platform.
• Collaborate with operations, networking, and engineering for reliability and visibility.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to ensure zero‑failure uptime.
