Job summary

Axon seeks a Unified Communications Integration Engineer, Public Safety in a hybrid setup to build and deploy a cloud-based real-time emergency platform. You’ll ensure interoperability, security, and high SLA across VoIP and signaling services, collaborating with Carbyne’s Ops and engineering teams.

You’ll work on configuring UC platforms, supporting customers, and maintaining technical docs while aligning with best practices and security standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with VoIP architecture and open-source UC deployments.
• Hands-on installation of Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk or similar.
• Strong understanding of SIP, SDP, RTP, WebRTC and related diagnostics.
• 3+ years deploying open-source VoIP solutions.
• 3+ years networking with OSI layers 1-7.
• Good Linux environments, bash scripting.
• Experience deploying on AWS or other clouds.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of real-time comms team to deliver highly available 911 infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot Carbyne’s Emergency Communication Platform.
• Provide clients with customized UC solutions.
• Install, maintain, and integrate PBX and UC systems.
• Create and maintain technical specs and solution documents.
• Lead onboarding of new customers per requirements and specs.
• Provide technical support and training for Operations on 911 comms systems.
• Build understanding of UC architecture, networking, and cloud computing.
• Coordinate with Operations, R&D, Sales, CTO Office, and Product Managers.
