Job summary

Axon is hiring an Unified Communications Integration Engineer for Public Safety in a hybrid role. You will join a real‑time UC team delivering a cloud‑based emergency communications platform, integrating VoIP signaling, PBX, and WebRTC for highly available 911 infrastructure.

You’ll configure and troubleshoot Carbyne's platform, deploy open‑source UC solutions, and work with operations, R&D, sales, and product teams to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with VoIP architecture and open‑source UC systems.
• Deep knowledge of VoIP deployments and protocols (SIP/SDP/RTP/WebRTC) and related troubleshooting.
• 3+ years deploying open‑source VoIP solutions.
• 3+ years networking experience across OSI layers 1‑7.
• Strong Linux environments knowledge and bash scripting.
• Hands‑on AWS cloud deployment experience (private/public networks).

Responsibilities

• Support real‑time 911 infrastructure within a unified communications context.
• Configure and troubleshoot Carbyne’s platform for high availability.
• Provide customized UC solutions for clients.
• Install, maintain, and integrate PBX/UC projects.
• Create technical specs and solution documents.
• Onboard new customers per requirements and specs.
• Provide operations training for 911 systems.
• Understand UC architecture, networking, and cloud computing.
