Job summary

Axon 911 is building the cloud-native voice infrastructure that powers emergency calls, ensuring every call routes reliably and uptime is maximized. You will contribute to the actual call-handling engine, interfacing with telephony providers and PSAPs to deliver dependable 911 services.

You will shape major features and architecture for a high-availability voice platform, collaborating with operations, networking, and product teams while on a hybrid schedule in Boston.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with VoIP/UC systems and SIP protocol.
• Cloud platform expertise to build distributed, fault-tolerant systems (prefer AWS).
• Familiarity with FreeSWITCH and Kamailio open-source tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and build cloud-based voice infrastructure for SIP routing and call state management.
• Maintain integrations with telephony providers and PSAPs to ensure end-to-end call reliability.
• Drive features and architectural evolution of the voice platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure visibility and reliability of infrastructure changes.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support zero-failure requirements.
