Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) is seeking a Senior Billing Analyst to own complex billing and accounts receivable activities within our New England Regional Finance team.

You will support project managers, finance leadership, clients, and internal partners, transforming receivables data into meaningful insights. As a hybrid role based in Massachusetts, you will help navigate billing requirements, resolve escalated matters, strengthen collections, and mentor junior billing staff while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Management, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• 4+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, collections, or related finance roles.
• Experience managing complex billing/receivables in professional services or project-based environment preferred.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills with ability to analyze financial data for stakeholders.
• ERP/accounting system proficiency, especially Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and finalize complex client invoices in line with contracts and deadlines.
• Manage a portfolio of routine to highly complex project accounts, addressing billing exceptions and credit/rebill activity.
• Review contract terms and client requirements to ensure billing accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to develop invoicing and collection strategies for high-risk accounts.
• Monitor AR aging, analyze aging trends, disputes, and cash-flow impact; escalate when needed.
• Lead follow-up on outstanding receivables and support payment plans and issue resolution.
• Research and resolve complex billing, payment, subconsultant invoicing, and balance discrepancies.
• Apply payments, reconcile unapplied cash, and oversee account reconciliations and credit memos.
