Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) is seeking a Billing Analyst to join our New England Regional Finance team. This hybrid role supports invoicing accuracy and project financial administration for engineering projects in the Northeast.

The position is ideally based in Bedford, NH, or other Northern New England offices. You will prepare and review client invoices, manage billing cycles, assist with project setup, and work with PMs and subconsultants to resolve billing issues.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting/finance or related field; bachelor's preferred.
• 0–4 years of billing, AR, or finance experience.
• Experience in professional services/engineering environment preferred.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems; Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process client invoices per contract terms and deadlines.
• Manage recurring billing cycles, revisions, and billing corrections.
• Support project setup and budgeting by reviewing compensation and methods.
• Maintain billing records, timesheets, expenses, subconsultant invoices, documents.
• Coordinate accounts payable with subconsultants and vendors.
• Resolve client questions and discrepancies on billing and collections.
• Monitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding invoices with PMs and Finance.
• Apply payments, reconcile unapplied cash, and assist with reconciliations.
• Partner with PMs and internal teams to resolve billing disputes.
• Prepare routine billing, AR aging, and trend analyses for leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and reporting.
