Job summary

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly. The Batch Infra team provides scalable, self-serve compute to support ML, product and financial engineering workloads across the cloud.

You will lead a team of engineers, own quarterly goals, partner with product, design and analytics, drive architectural decisions, and ensure reliability and on-call readiness while mentoring teammates and shaping code standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, guiding engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics in ideation and risk-balanced decisions.
• Proactively identify project, process, technology or business issues and lead in solving them.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts by creating metrics and on-call support.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards.
• Develop talent on your team by providing feedback and leading by example.
• Write high-quality code that is understandable and reusable.
