The Batch Infra team at Affirm owns a reliable, scalable compute platform that serves ML, product and financial engineering workloads. We ship on-cloud batch solutions and uphold high availability, with a remote-first setup across the US.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience building highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with workflow orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Flyte, Prefect, Temporal, Luigi).
• Experience scaling Spark/Flink on Kubernetes for large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Own quarterly goals for the team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics across the lifecycle.
• Proactively identify and solve project, process, or tech issues.
• Support operations and on-call efforts to keep artifacts available.
• Set and enforce code review and design standards beyond the team.
• Develop talent by giving feedback and guidance.
