Job summary

Affirm is redefining credit with a remote-first culture and a scalable batch compute platform. The Batch Infra team builds reliable, self-serve compute solutions to enable ML, product, and financial engineering success across cloud workloads.

You will lead engineers, drive quarterly goals, collaborate with product, design and analytics, and solve high-impact infrastructure challenges with a focus on reliability and ownership.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Experience building/workflow orchestration with Airflow, Flyte, Prefect, Temporal or Luigi.
• Experience scaling frameworks like Spark/Flink on Kubernetes.
• Strong coding practices and ownership in large codebases.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team and guide engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics across the lifecycle.
• Proactively identify issues and lead in solving them.
• Support operations and on-call readiness for team artifacts and metrics.
• Foster code quality standards and mentor teammates.
