Job summary

Affirm is seeking an experienced backend engineer to lead the Batch Infra team, delivering scalable compute solutions for ML, product, and financial engineering.

You will own quarterly goals, collaborate across product management, design, and analytics, and drive high-availability platforms on AWS and Kubernetes. This role offers remote-first work with nationwide scope and a strong compensation package.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Experience with workflow orchestration frameworks like Airflow, Flyte, Prefect, Temporal, Luigi.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics in ideation and constraints.
• Identify and lead solutions for project, process or tech issues.
• Support operations and on-call efforts for team artifacts.
• Foster quality and ownership by defining code review standards and mentoring.
