Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Batch Infrastructure) to own backend workloads and help scale the compute platform powering ML, product, and finance engineering. This remote US role emphasizes collaboration with product, design, and analytics across the lifecycle.

You will drive quarterly goals, improve reliability, and mentor teammates while improving code quality and on-call readiness.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin in production.
• Ability to own features from ideation to delivery.
• Knowledge of AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes in scalable environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Own quarterly goals for the team and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics across the lifecycle.
• Identify and lead resolution of project and process issues.
• Maintain operations and availability of artifacts and on-call reliability.
• Establish code review standards and promote quality across teams.
