Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Client Service Professional / Receptionist to greet clients and be the first friendly face of the office. You’ll help with scheduling, check-in, document scanning, and light office duties as part of a team of tax professionals.

This in-person role provides training and could lead to tax preparation or office leadership. Strong communication, multitasking, and confidentiality are essential, with evening and weekend availability during tax season.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and serve clients professionally.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities throughout the day.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Comfort using basic computer programs and digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Teams and scheduling systems).
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and create a welcoming, professional first impression as the face of the office.
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and match clients with the right tax professional based on their needs.
• Manage client check-in and intake processes, including scanning and organizing documents.
• Maintain office organization and cleanliness to support a smooth, professional client experience.
• Collaborate with tax professionals and team members to ensure seamless daily operations.
• Handle sensitive client information with confidentiality, discretion, and care.
