Job summary

Freedom Living co. is seeking a Seasonal Desktop Support Analyst in Ohio to serve as the single point of contact for end-user support. Responsibilities include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading PC hardware and software to ensure optimal workstation performance.

You will troubleshoot issues in person, by phone, or via email, handle MAC requests, and coordinate with LAN/network teams. Strong hardware knowledge and TCP/IP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or 3+ years of equivalent work experience.
• Microsoft certifications.
• Excellent technical knowledge of PC and desktop hardware.
• Excellent technical knowledge of PC internal components.
• Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Extensive equipment support experience with iPads, iPhones, and Android devices.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP.
• Experience with IBM Client Access for iSeries/AS400.
• Excellent knowledge of VBScript and C#.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedures, and OEM guides.
• Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
• Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of desktop problems for end-users, and implement corrective solutions.
• Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware/software.
• Assess and implement performance upgrades to PCs and components.
• Collaborate with LAN technicians and network administrators for efficient desktop operations.
• Administer and resolve issues with desktop networking software products.
• Respond to desktop problems via calls, pages, or emails.
• Process MAC requests from line managers.
• Ensure proper functioning of physical desktop connections.
• Monitor and maintain backup systems and files for servers.
• Maintain procedures for logging, reporting, and monitoring desktop operations.
• Maintain an inventory of monitors, keyboards, hard drives, and related components.
• Document failure, repair, installation, and removal activities.
• Liaise with third-party support and vendors when needed.
• Research desktop products and evaluate purchase options.
• Develop long-term strategies for desktop hardware needs.
• Write specifications for PCs and related products.
• Install and network printers; maintain standalone and network printers.
