Job summary

ABB Drive Products in the United States is seeking a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Support Specialist to join the Technical Support Team Lead. You will provide technical support to ABB customers, sales channels, product management, and drive services, focusing on VFDs, 3‑phase power, and control wiring.

This remote US role requires strong knowledge of VFDs and electrical principles, excellent English communication, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years electrical/technical experience OR Associate's degree with 4 years OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work (REQUIRED).
• Firm understanding of electricity principles and troubleshooting drives.
• Strong English communication and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone & email for VFDs, aiding commissioning, troubleshooting, and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, configuration, and control-system integration.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve complex issues.
• Collaborate with warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorization.
• Maintain documentation of support cases and solutions using Salesforce Case Management.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
