Job summary

ABB is seeking a VFD Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to customers and internal teams from a remote US location. You will handle drive programming, diagnostics, and coordination with engineering and warranty teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years electrical/technical experience, or associate’s degree with 4 years, or high school with 6 years.
• Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives required.
• Understanding of electricity principles for troubleshooting drives.
• Ability to communicate in English; proficient with computers.
• Authorized to work in the US for ABB.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone & email for VFD applications and troubleshooting.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales and product teams to resolve issues.
• Work with warranty team to initiate replacements and labor authorizations for warranty repairs.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases using Salesforce Case Management and other tools.
• Stay current with VFD technologies and software updates.
