Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a VFD Support Specialist to provide technical help to customers, sales channels, and product teams. The role focuses on Low Voltage VFDs, 3-phase power, system wiring, and connectivity, with remote work in the U.S.

for the Motion Drive Products division. You will assist with drive programming, configuration, and integration, while collaborating with engineering and service teams to resolve technical issues and support warranty processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant Electrical/Technical experience OR associate's degree and 4 years of relevant Electrical/Technical experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant Electrical/Technical experience.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work, REQUIRED.
• Understand electrical principles; apply them to troubleshooting drives.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written; computer-literate.
• US work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone and email for VFD applications, including commissioning, troubleshooting, and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, communications, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales and product teams to resolve complex issues.
• Coordinate with warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorizations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases and best practices using Salesforce Case Management.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
