SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation for its remote role. You will own preliminary substation design across solar, BESS, and related interconnections from kickoff through handoff, aligning scope, schedule, risk, and technical assumptions before execution.

Location details and expectations will be discussed during interview. This position emphasizes leadership in engineering design, coordination with consultants, and ensuring compliant, constructible solutions that meet utility

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE licensure is a nice-to-have, not a must.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar).
• Strong understanding of substation design principles and industry standards.
• Familiarity with interconnection requirements and contract language.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities; able to coordinate across teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsabilidades

• Own the first-pass preliminary substation design approach for assigned pursuits and projects, defining design basis and key assumptions.
• Review client documents, PPAs, interconnection agreements, and related info to identify requirements and risks.
• Serve as primary substation design SME and coordinate inputs from engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Lead development of the 10% substation design, including single-line diagrams and equipment sizing.
• Coordinate with estimating and scheduling to align design, quantities, and commercial assumptions.
• Review estimates for technical completeness and identify gaps or exclusions.
