Job summary

ABB Smart Buildings US is seeking a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer to develop technical and commercial proposals for data centers and critical manufacturing facilities. You will work with Strategic Account Sales Managers to drive Inquiry to Order, focusing on high-profit, executable projects and strong customer value.

The role requires deep knowledge of ABB’s electrical distribution portfolio and the Empower tools, with cross-functional coordination and risk review responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical distribution or related industry; Minimum 5 years of Sales and project quotations experience.
• Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio and design characteristics.
• Experience with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SAMs and Strategic Customers to identify CTQ factors for growth.
• Organize and lead deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
• Develop innovative solutions leveraging ABB’s product portfolio to reduce costs and increase project profitability.
• Assess project risk triggers and coordinate with the risk manager as primary contact.
