Job summary

Elsevier seeks a Solutions Engineer / Sales Consultant to partner with Account Managers, grow sales opportunities, and validate client needs with its Academic Information Systems and Research Intelligence portfolio.

You will lead pre-sales demos, assist with tender responses, and support post-sale implementation, working within an international matrixed organization. Fluent English and strong presentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or Management Information Systems (or similar).
5+ years of sales experience as a Solution Engineer/Pre-Sales Consultant or similar.
SaaS/Software as a Service experience is a plus.
Publishing expertise with publishing systems/workflows is a plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Fluent in English.
Experience in international matrixed organisations is a plus.
Proven experience in complex solution-sales (consultative selling).
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Drive the technical sales process by meeting with clients to discuss software needs and performing detailed discovery.
Draft and deliver tailored presentations and deep technical demos.
Support Account Manager with technical queries and use cases.
Lead tender requirements and collaborate on tender responses.
Design solutions and proposals aligned with client needs and promised functionality.
Provide support during implementation and post-installation handover.
Generate referrals and reference customers through trusted partnerships.
