Job summary

Elsevier seeks a Solution Engineer/Sales Consultant to partner with Account Managers and drive technical sales across the US region from a home-based role in Ohio. You will deliver in-depth demos, document client needs, and align solutions with success criteria.

Fluent English, excellent communication, and a proven consultative selling track record are required; SaaS exposure and publishing workflows are a plus. This position is national in scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or MIS or similar field.
• 5+ years of sales experience as a Solution Engineer/Pre-Sales Consultant or similar.
• SaaS experience is a plus.
• Publishing expertise or familiarity with publishing systems is a plus.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pre-sale: prepare technical demos and persona-tailored presentations.
• Sales: review CRM data, deliver demos, capture customer requirements.
• Post-sales: gather feedback and assist hand-off to implementation.
• Drive tender responses and contribute to solution design.
• Support referrals and reference customers.
