Job summary
ABB seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead customer engagement for the 72.5-145 kV Dead Tank Circuit Breakers portfolio. This remote US role bridges product management and sales, reporting to the Product Marketing Director and Global Portfolio Management of Grid Components.
Preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX, but candidates nationwide are welcome. You will drive market strategy, act as the main technical interface in presales, ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance, and foster partnerships
Qualifications
- Degree in electrical or engineering field required.
- 10+ years in high‑voltage equipment, preferably breakers or substation components.
- Deep understanding of US sub-transmission applications and utility processes.
- Experience in technical sales, product management, or business development.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Market strategy & growth: expand US subtransmission opportunities and shape go-to-market plans.
- Technical leadership: act as primary technical interface for configuration discussions and presales design.
- Standards & industry influence: ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance and participate in industry bodies.
- Partnerships & product innovation: build ecosystem relationships and guide product evolution toward SF6-free tech.
