Job summary

ABB is seeking a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead customer engagement for the 72.5-145 kV Dead Tank Circuit Breakers within the US market. This hybrid role bridges product management and sales, focusing on SF6-free, digital-ready DTB solutions and market leadership.

The role reports to the Product Marketing Director and collaborates with Global Portfolio Management of Grid Components. Remote work is offered with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in high voltage equipment, preferably breakers or substation components.
• Deep understanding of US sub-transmission applications and utility processes.
• Experience in technical sales, product management, or business development.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with vacuum interrupter technology and SF6-free solutions/regulation.
• Familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards for HV products.
• Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Market strategy & growth: Drive US subtransmission market expansion and shape go-to-market plans.
• Technical leadership: Lead configuration discussions, feature evaluations, and presales design.
• Standards & industry influence: Ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance and represent ABB in industry bodies.
• Partnerships & product innovation: Build ecosystem relationships for product evolution and digital integration.
