Job summary
ABB is seeking a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead customer engagement for the sub-transmission portfolio, focusing on 72.5-145 kV Dead Tank Circuit Breakers. This hybrid role bridges product management and sales, ensuring f-gas-free, digital-ready DTB solutions meet evolving utility needs.
Remote position in the United States with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX. Reports to the Product Marketing Director and to Global Portfolio Management of Grid Components, driving market
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in high voltage equipment, preferably with circuit breakers or other key substation components.
- Technical sales, product management, or business development experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with vacuum interrupter technology and SF6-free solutions/regulation.
- Familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards for high-voltage products.
Responsibilities
- Market strategy & growth – Drive U.S. subtransmission market expansion and identify opportunities.
- Technical leadership – Lead configuration discussions, evaluations, and presales solution design.
- Standards & industry influence – Ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance and participate in industry bodies.
- Partnerships & product innovation – Build ecosystem relationships and guide product evolution.
