Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior SCADA Design Lead to drive the in-house SCADA design for utility-scale PV, BESS, and wind projects. You will produce high-quality drawings, enforce standards, and support commissioning readiness, while mentoring engineers across the team.

You will work remotely, interacting with SOLV OT on hardware requirements, refining designs, and ensuring long-term system reliability across nationwide projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering preferred.
• 6–8 years of engineering experience in renewable energy including PV, BESS, or Wind.
• Direct experience drafting SCADA, networking, electrical, and substation drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking concepts.
• Experience with SCADA networks using Fiber, RS-232/RS-485, Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.
• Ability to read and develop power, networking, and control diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house SCADA design for utility-scale projects (PV, BESS, Wind).
• Develop designs in AutoCAD and Visio; produce detailed design docs.
• Define and improve SCADA design standards and practices.
• Lead requirements gathering and translate into scalable designs.
• Review and approve SCADA drawings and manage redlines.
• Mentor junior engineers; promote engineering excellence.
• Coordinate with OT teams to validate hardware requirements.
• Drive standardization and process improvements across projects.
