Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a senior SCADA Design Leader to drive in-house SCADA design for utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS projects. You will produce high-quality drawings, resolve complex issues, and reinforce SOLV standards while supporting commissioning readiness and long-term reliability.

This fully remote role involves mentoring engineers, coordinating with OT teams, and pushing for standardization and process improvements to reduce effort across projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering preferred.
• 6-8 years of engineering experience in renewable energy including PV, BESS or Wind.
• Direct experience drafting SCADA, networking, electrical, and substation drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking concepts.
• Advanced knowledge of SCADA networks using fiber, RS-232/RS-485, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.
• Ability to read and develop diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own in-house SCADA design for utility-scale renewables including PV, BESS, and wind.
• Develop designs in AutoCAD, Visio, and other tools to produce scalable system diagrams.
• Define and improve SCADA design standards and best practices to ensure quality and consistency.
• Coordinate requirements gathering and translate them into comprehensive designs.
• Review and approve detailed design documentation and wiring diagrams for SCADA racks and field networks.
