Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a senior SCADA Design Lead to head in-house SCADA system design for utility-scale PV, BESS, and wind projects. You will craft detailed drawings in AutoCAD/Visio, define design standards, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with OT teams to ensure reliable operations.

You will work remotely with discussions on location expectations; you will interface with customers, sub-contractors, and field teams to ensure project success and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering preferred.
• 6–8 years of engineering experience in renewable energy, SCADA.
• Direct experience drafting SCADA, networking, electrical, and substation drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking concepts.
• Advanced knowledge of SCADA networks, Fiber Optics, RS-232/RS-485, Ethernet.
• Advanced knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.
• Ability to work with sub-contractors and field personnel.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house SCADA design for utility-scale PV, BESS, and renewables.
• Develop designs in AutoCAD, Visio; prepare diagrams and BOMs.
• Define and enforce SCADA design standards and best practices.
• Review scope documents; gather requirements; translate to system designs.
• Create and approve detailed design docs for wiring, diagrams, racks, enclosures.
