Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a fully remote Senior SCADA Design Lead to orchestrate design workstreams for utility-scale PV, BESS, and renewables. You will produce high-quality drawings, resolve complex issues, and support commissioning readiness while maintaining SOLV standards and long-term reliability.

You will mentor engineers, drive standardization with the SOLV OT team, and lead customer-facing design reviews, FATs, and field support to ensure successful project delivery across nationwide

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering is preferred.
• 6-8 years of engineering experience in renewable energy with SCADA experience.
• Experience drafting engineering drawing sets for SCADA, networking, electrical and substation designs.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts and architectures
• Advanced knowledge of SCADA networks using fiber optics, RS-232/RS-485 and TCP/IP
• Advanced knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA and DA
• Advanced reading and development of power system, networking, control, electrical, mechanical and civil diagrams
• Advanced knowledge of power plant procedures and governance with industry bodies
• Ability to work with sub-contractors and field personnel
• Proficiency with project management, scheduling and task tools
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house design of SCADA monitoring and control systems for renewable projects.
• Use AutoCAD, Visio to develop large-scale SCADA drawings and diagrams.
• Define and improve SCADA design standards and practices.
• Own review of scope documents and translate requirements into scalable designs.
• Create detailed design docs including diagrams and BOMs for SCADA racks and field enclosures.
• Perform senior-level review of drawing sets and issue redlines.
• Maintain drawing review quality standards within the team.
• Serve as escalation point for complex SCADA configurations and issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous learning.
• Collaborate with SOLV OT to define hardware requirements and mitigate risks.
• Drive standardization and process improvements across projects.
• Generate project documentation in Visio and AutoCAD.
• Develop training materials and provide risk assessments for delivery.
• Promote NERC compliance in design and reporting.
• Lead and present at customer-facing reviews and FATs.
• Coordinate with customers and field technicians for on-site support.
