Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor for the PTO team, focusing on end-to-end resolution of payroll tax issues across notices, corrections, and amendments.

This senior SME leads complex cases, mentors peers, and drives process improvements in a flexible, remote role with minimum 20 hours per week. The position emphasizes tax defect resolution, amended return preparation across multiple states, and deep knowledge of Federal and State payroll tax rules.

Formación

• 4+ years in payroll tax with emphasis on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notices; ability to draft penalty abatements and agency responses.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) across multiple states.
• Deep knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, payroll tax deposits, penalties and interest.
• Multi-state taxation and compliance across jurisdictions
• Lead or SME experience; coaching junior staff
• Advanced Excel for reconciliation and audit trails

Responsabilidades

• Resolve the most complex State and Federal payroll tax notices in the team’s queue, owning full lifecycle from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) across 10+ states end-to-end.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors across pay periods and jurisdictions; trace discrepancies and drive correction workflows.
• Maintain high productivity in case resolution with accurate Notice, Correction, and Amendment handling.
• Monitor WIP, identify aging cases and blockers; propose resolutions with root-cause analysis.
• Serve as real-time resource for Senior Staff, answer questions, and coach resolution processes.
• Conduct structured coaching sessions with SBIC model; increase frequency for learning gaps.
• Contribute to team huddles, QA sessions, and process meetings.
• Author, review, and approve SOPs and KB articles; identify error patterns and corrective actions.
• Identify trends and compliance issues; communicate findings and drive resolutions with stakeholders.
• Support cross-functional collaboration to resolve interconnected client issues end-to-end.
