Intuit is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax SME to lead end-to-end resolution of complex payroll tax issues, including notices, corrections and amendments. You will own the most challenging cases, coach junior staff, and collaborate across Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams.

The role demands expert knowledge of U.S. payroll tax compliance, multi-state filing, and strong Excel skills, with a flexible, virtual work model and substantial impact on customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Ability to independently draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses with documentation.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across multiple states.
• Strong knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW and related payroll tax rules.

Responsabilités

• Resolve the most complex payroll tax notices across multiple quarters and states, owning end-to-end lifecycle.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) across 10+ states.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning pay periods and jurisdictions and drive correction workflows.
• Maintain high productivity resolving correction and amendment requests with accuracy.
• Coach and mentor Senior Processors; share resolution processes and build team capability.
• Identify trends and communicate findings to leadership with recommended actions.
