Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Senior Patient Financial Clearance Representative to ensure accurate registration data, verify insurance eligibility, and collect co-pays as needed. The role includes real time training for new representatives and mentorship within the team.

Responsibilities include ensuring data accuracy, resolving data gaps, and coordinating with patients, clinical staff, and providers to optimize scheduling and eligibility checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a health care setting.
• Experience with commercial, managed care and governmental health insurance plans.
• One (1) year experience in insurance plan authorization and/or medical billing.
• Proficient with PC software including Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and benefits before appointments.
• Enter and validate patient data in registration systems.
• Communicate with patients and providers to collect missing or incorrect data.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to new representatives.
• Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the health system.
