Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a health care setting.
• Experience with commercial, managed care and governmental health plans.
• One (1) year experience in insurance plan authorization and referral requirements; or medical billing.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients, clinicians, and providers when deferring services due to eligibility/benefit issues.
• Prioritize and complete patient demographic, payer, and visit data before appointments.
• Update registration data in EPIC using established policies.
• Determine when plan additions or revisions are needed for past/future visits.
• Contact patient/guarantor by phone, portal, email, or mail to update data.
• Aim for 97%+ accuracy on EPIC Registration audits.
