Job summary

Ensono is seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to support, maintain, and enhance a suite of mainframe applications. You will guide junior team members and work with COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM while addressing incidents, service requests, and change requests.

The role requires 3–5 years of specialized mainframe experience, SDLC proficiency, and enterprise program experience. Remote work is available most of the time with strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in mainframe application development, support and maintenance
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM with SDLC knowledge and version control tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Experience with enterprise ticketing systems like ServiceNow or similar, and their workflows.
• Handle incidents, service requests and change requests across waterfall and agile projects.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex applications and integrations.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications and queries.
• Create technical documentation for business and support teams.
• Understand requirements and offer implementation options aligned with business needs.
