Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Associate Software Development with COBOL, CICS, JCL and FOCUS expertise to support DJMS on IBM mainframe systems. This role is 100% remote and requires experience maintaining and enhancing mainframe applications.

The successful candidate will plan, coordinate multi-team activities, drive project milestones, and contribute to delivering high-quality software on time. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

Experience with software requirements changes.
Design and development of software systems for mainframe environments.
Strong COBOL/CICS/JCL in a mainframe environment required.

Responsibilities

Plan, direct, and coordinate activities across multiple functional areas.
Prioritize and allocate projects, products, and resources with guidance from architects and managers.
Participate in strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of software products.
Make hiring and reward decisions as needed.
Direct a multi-team organization and coordinate cross-functional activities.
Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards, reporting status and variances.
Develop project plans with goals, strategy, milestones, risks, and resource allocation.
Monitor technology trends and opportunities for new technologies.
