Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. in the United States is seeking a seasoned mainframe developer to design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications using CICS, DB2/VSAM, and SQL.

You'll work across front-end to back-end processes and collaborate with offshore teams. The role requires JCL and PROC knowledge, Endevor, and familiarity with AGILE SCRUM, TDD, and Waterfall, plus DevOps practices with JIRA and Github.

Qualifications

• Proficient in JCL, PROCs, and mainframe batch processing.
• Skilled in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
• Experience with Service Now for Change Management.
• Experience with Confluence as a Documentation Repository.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including JIRA and Github.
• Experienced with offshore development teams and Endevor for version management.
• Ability to think strategically and influence decisions without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and test mainframe applications using COBOL Stored Procedures, CICS, and SQL accessing DB2 and VSAM.
• Debugging across front end applications through to backend processes and data.
• Interacting with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
