Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer/Developer to design, develop, test, and support mainframe applications from development through production at a client site in New Jersey.

The role requires 5+ years in COBOL, CICS, and DB2 with additional exposure to VSAM, MQ, JCL, and Endeavor Software Manager. Strong collaboration with stakeholders and a focus on high-quality deliverables are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing and debugging mainframe applications.
• 5+ years of COBOL development experience.
• Strong experience with CICS, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, MQ, JCL.
• Experience with Endeavor Software Manager.
• Familiarity with DB2 utilities, File-AID, job schedulers, and debugging tools.
• Knowledge of secure file transfer processes (SFTP/AWX).
• Understanding of CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, test, and debug mainframe applications.
• Perform code analysis, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and environment teams to promote code across development, testing, and production environments.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
• Participate in application maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution.
