First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior IT Manager - Infrastructure Platforms to lead Windows, Linux, AIX, storage, and backup operations in a remote-capable role. You will manage a team of engineers, drive incident response, capacity planning, and security hardening while aligning with regulatory controls across the enterprise.

The role requires deep technical expertise and strong leadership to deliver reliable, compliant infrastructure services in support of critical banking applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Applications development, analysis or engineering.
• Or High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Applications development, analysis or engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations of infrastructure teams across Windows, Linux, AIX, storage, and backup environments.
• Supervise, coach, and develop system administrators and engineers with workload management and career development.
• Ensure high availability and reliability through monitoring, capacity planning, incident management, and RCA.
• Oversee lifecycle management for servers, OS, storage, and backup systems, including patching and upgrades.
• Maintain readiness for backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery with tested objectives.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and risk teams to enforce secure configurations and policy compliance.
• Establish infrastructure standards, change controls, and platform governance.
• Coordinate major incidents and guide recovery during outages and degradation events.
• Support audits by providing evidence and remediating gaps in a timely manner.
• Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, maintenance, and services.
• Contribute to strategic planning for modernization, automation, and cloud integration where applicable.
• Collaborate with application and database teams on performance and platform requirements.
• Drive automation and operational efficiency through scripting and standardized deployments.
• Own capacity and performance management to meet growth and resilience needs.
• Ensure ITIL-aligned processes across incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
