Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior IT Manager - Infrastructure Platforms to lead the administration and reliability of core infrastructure, including Windows Server, Linux, AIX, storage, and backup. The role combines hands-on leadership with strong governance in a regulated banking environment.

You will manage a team of engineers across production, DR, and development platforms, ensuring high availability, documented processes, and secure configurations in partnership with security and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Applications development, analysis or engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Applications development, analysis or engineering
• Experience leading infrastructure teams across Windows, UNIX/Linux, storage, and backup environments
• Experience in regulated environments with strong controls and documentation

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of infrastructure teams across Windows, Linux, AIX, storage, and backup in prod, DR, test, and dev.
• Supervise and coach system administrators and engineers, including workload management and career development.
• Ensure high availability through monitoring, capacity planning, incident management, and continuous service improvement.
• Oversee lifecycle management for servers, OS, storage, and backup systems including upgrades and decommissioning.
• Maintain readiness for backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery testing.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and risk teams to enforce secure configurations and compliance.
• Establish infrastructure standards, change controls, and platform governance.
• Coordinate major incident response and outages, leading recovery efforts.
• Support audits by preparing evidence and remediating gaps in a timely manner.
• Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and services.
