Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior AIX Systems Administrator to join our Platform Computing Operations team. You will manage IBM Power and AIX environments, ensuring availability and compliance for mission-critical financial apps. Remote role limited to AZ, NC, and TX with on-call rotation.

You will leverage PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, NIM, and scripting to drive automation, DR readiness, and security hardening in a regulated banking setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Systems engineering or systems programming.
• Alternate: High School Diploma or GED with 10 years of experience in Systems engineering or systems programming.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and troubleshoot IBM AIX across production, development, testing, and DR environments.
• Perform installation, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of AIX systems.
• Monitor performance and capacity; resolve infrastructure issues proactively.
• Manage file systems, storage allocation, VGs, LVs, and resources.
• Tune performance and optimize AIX operating environments.
• Lead incident resolution and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
