Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support the IRS client in a fully remote role. The candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based modules, work with DB2, CICS, and JCL, and produce clear documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of relevant experience, with an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation. Strong collaboration with teammates and the ability to work independently are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent; 5+ years of COBOL development experience.
• Experience with IBM DB2, CICS, JCL, and SQL in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Batch processing and mainframe tooling is required.
• Ability to write, review, and maintain documentation and unit test cases.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface with all levels of management.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of COBOL-based solutions to meet business requirements.
• Code, review, unit test, and integrate modules per designs.
• Update documentation such as FSPs/PRPs and related diagrams.
• Track requirements and prepare unit test cases; analyze production logs and data.
• Provide guidance and training to other developers as needed.
• Support testing and remediation of defects; collaborate with testers and stakeholders.
